I had the pleasure last week of giving a talk at the University of Oxford last week. It was great to be back in Oxford, where I once worked and lived, to meet with some outstanding students from the Oxford Law Society and Oxford African and Caribbean Society. There I shared the platform with the trailblazing lawyers, Charlotte Pope-Williams and Kari McCormick.

It’s clear to me that Gen Z have a high expectation of DEIB (#diversityequityinclusion), in the workplace. Without these values, they simply will not engage with #lawfirms except in opposition. I had the chance to not only share my varied experiences with #DEI but stress the indispensability of #belonging as a value. I told them that Gen Z have to be the movers and shakers of creating spaces of #belongingatwork.

Kudos to Asma Maloumi and Kwabena Osei for organising this, and to Kerena Arthur for initiating the invite. I look forward to more opportunities with this superb group of #talent.
