I’ve spent the last week setting up work with different #organisations and I’m amazed at how very #seniorleaders are still playing the #tick-box card. They talk a good game. They say that they wish to see #EDI change in their organisation. Even this morning, one client said that they wanted a sustainably #inclusive #culture of #belonging and hoped that my talk will bring this about. Mercy! I’m good, but not that good!!

I gently punctured the myth. #EDI can’t be an arbitrary tick-box exercise. It’s not a dip-a-toe moment. It’s a taking-a-plunge process. The #waters run deep.

Now, I’m happy to give a #motivational speech, as I’m a very effective #public speaker. I’m also happy to give a #Master #Class, a #seminar, or a series of #workshops, which I often do. But let me let you into a secret. These can only be effective when I see that leaders have a clear idea of what the organisation wants to achieve – medium to long term – with respect to outputs, impacts and #culturechange.

A tick-box regime has its place, especially for quick #monitoring#compliance and #levellingup exercises. But it should not work in a vacuum. #Metrics have to be part of an evaluative process. It’s the process that does the embedding for evidencing. In other words, it’s the process of implementing EDI #goals at key stages of the EDI project life cycle that produces evidence for #evaluation and #accountability.

Now, I have admittedly found that the best method for effecting #sustainable EDI change in an organisation is consultation, using a project management framework. Here, my team works with the senior and middle #leadership teams to project manage an organisation-wide strategy that will positively impact its perspectives, policies, personnel, programmes, and practices.

We’re talking transformation where according to the latest research you’re:

1️⃣ 2x as likely to meet #financial targets

2️⃣ 3x more likely to be #high performing

3️⃣ 6x more likely to be #innovative and

4️⃣ 8x more likely to have better business #outcomes.

Immersive EDI pays in every sense of the word. So, come and have a chat. Take the plunge. You won’t be the same and you’ll thank your lucky stars all the way to the bank!
