I personally don’t like random people touching me in public. But I would like to think I’d help a random #blind person who came up to me and touched me for help, irrespective of who they are.
This clip is a public experiment of two purportedly blind men – one #black, one #white – separately and randomly going up to strangers for help. Click on it and tell me what you think.
The questions that it raises for me are:
Are the respective reactions down to a (dis)liking of or (un)familiarity with people of different colour?
Is there something more transcendent going on? What?
Are the respective reactions learnt behaviour? If so, where from?
This is for my #colourblind friends: Did you notice the trends in the colour-based reactions of the respondents?
Maybe you have questions of your own. I’d really like to hear them.
