It continues to amaze me that people are promoted to hashtag#managerial and hashtag#leadership positions without any leadership hashtag#training. Then they continue to do what they’ve always done, focus on their hashtag#competency skills because that’s what got them noticed in the first place. And the organisation wonders why teams founder!
Leadership is primarily about leading people and providing the conditions for them to flourish. Focus on their responsibilities as whole persons and the tasks themselves will be accomplished with aplomb. However, this begins with you – the core you. You have to first learn to lead yourself.
